Passport RV’s: Made to Last

Passport RV’s have been a customer favorite for many years due to them being light-weight and fully equipped while remaining passport materialsaffordable. They vary in size from a small, couples coach that can be towed with a crossover vehicle to a larger family bunk that still doesn’t require a huge truck. In addition to style, size, and customer praise; Passport is known for its durability and quality.

Here we have a piece of side-wall from one of our Passports. As you can see they have the thickness of the styrofoam insulation that is all solid with no air pockets. Next to that you can see the frame of the Passport. Unlike many other manufacturers, Passport has a continuous weld and not a tack weld. Having the continuous weld makes the frame less likely to break.

It is amazing the difference that these two things can make on longevity, insulation, and comfort of an RV but that’s why it is important to know the underlying materials used in your RV.

TPO Roofs and Their Benefits

As most people have noticed, the RV industry just gets better over time. The units improve in looks as well as roof with logodurability and the quality is always increasing. One of these improvements that Keystone and other manufacturers recently made was to start designing their roofs using TPO. TPO is a durable and economical single ply system that consists of thermoplastic polyolefin membrane. This membrane is composed of three layers: 1.) TPO polymer base 2.) polyester-reinforced fabric center and 3.) thermoplastic polyolefin compounded top ply. TPO offers many of the same benefits as PVC roofing such as energy efficiency but at a lower cost. In addition TPO resists mold growth, dirt accumulation, tears impact, and punctures. It is designed to be flexible to allow for sway and settling. TPO is a one piece installation which cuts down on the possibility of leaks and or cracks and has the added benefit of reducing the carbon footprint.
