Introducing full-time RVers, Stephanie and Armando

We are Stephanie and Armando and we have been traveling full-time since August 2019 with our 3 daughters ages 7-15. We have a small blog (neweyesopen.com) and online store dedicated to inspiring others to live on purpose, see life from a fresh perspective and not get stuck living “inside the box”. We are also advocates for Green Compass Global, an organic CBD company based in my (Stephanie ‘s) home state of North Carolina.

When we sold our home and most of our belongings in NC we knew that we eventually wanted to farm, but we werenʼt sure where. We also knew that homeschooling our girls and fostering an active, creative lifestyle was a top priority. So we decided to take a family gap year and explore North America as we searched for the perfect property to start our farm.

So far we have visited 17 states and 9 National Parks, not to mention various state parks and historical monuments, on our journey and we plan to continue exploring, (even though our youngest would like to stop now so that she can have her horse!) We feel so blessed that we are able to spend so much quality time with one another and get to see parts of the country that weʼd only dreamed of seeing before! RV Life has definitely required some adjustments and sacrifice, but it has been worth it!

Introducing the Schmand Family

Hey there! My name is Ryan! My wife’s name is Heather. We have 3 children, Corbin (12) Zoey (5) and Zachary (4). Together we are fulltime5. We started fulltime living in our RV almost 1 year ago! We sold our house and everything in it to try out RV Life! Our goal was to be able to spend more time with our children as we gave up things like birthday presents and Christmas presents to experience more quality time spent together! We now buy our children fun experiences..rather then objects that filled our house with clutter! Since we have downsized our lives we have been able to save more money and work less, giving us the opportunity to see more places and do more things with our 3 amazing children. We love being able to travel and since we homeschool our kids, traveling for us is very easy. We always have our laptops with us and they can do their school work from almost anywhere in the world! Most things that they experience on the road can also be used towards school. For example, our oldest son blogs and that can be used for his English and socials!

We are currently on the biggest adventure of our lives as we ditched the RV for 2 months back home and started backpacking southeast Asia! We’re in Thailand at the moment and will be headed to Cambodia next, followed by Vietnam where we will spend our new years and Christmas! We leave Vietnam January 15th and return home to Canada to resume RV Life! We hope to be able to show our children a side of the world they never would have seen before had we not switched our lifestyle. Experiencing a new culture and seeing how other people live gives them a new perspective..and hopefully humbles them at the same time! We are extremely excited for what our families’ future holds as we are beyond excited to be able to start a new chapter in our lives!

Sincerely Ryan and Heather Schmand

Introducing Kaylyn and Ben

We are Kaylyn and Ben, and these are our babies Pita, Tzatziki, and Zorra. We are currently stationary in southern Arizona. Kaylyn is a nurse and Ben is an electrician. We started full-timing last April, and it has completely changed our lives! We originally decided to full time for financial reasons, but it has given us freedom from finances, “stuff” and so much stress! We live within our means and without the weight of possessions. We hope to travel around the country more very soon and meet more RVers with incredible stories! Follow us on Instagram @ livingthefifth

#7 Reason To Buy A Camper: Become Part Of The Community

Camping is not just a summer activity, its about belonging to a community. It’s a different world when you first enter a campground. You enter a new community of people who share the same interests and camp philosophy as you do. It’s like gathering around a campfire, while a buddy of yours starts playing a familiar tune on their guitar and everyone joins in to sing along. It’s that feeling you get when stories are being told and laughter breaks out all at once. It’s simply that feeling of being “home.”

#6 Reason To Buy A Camper: Meet Friendly Neighbors

You can meet so many nice people at campgrounds. The people are relaxed and laid back and are willing to give you a hand when needed. My family and I have experienced friendly neighbors reaching out to help us park our camper, unload equipment and even giving us a very nice maple stick to use in our campfire. It’s not like this when you stay at hotels. People at hotels like their privacy and are there to sleep and leave. Campgrounds are a different world. It’s like you have lived by each other for years!

#5 Reason To Buy A Camper: RV Campgrounds Everywhere

Never run out of choices with the different types of campgrounds that are everywhere in the US. You have state parks, national parks, family-owned campgrounds and boondocking! Unlike hotels, you get to see nature at its finest. Let’s not forget about all of the activities that accompany a park, such as hiking, boating, swimming, picnicking and more! All of these activities promote great health, cherished family time and saving money. It’s a win-win for me!
