I’m Bored

I’m bored, there’s nothing to do, a common theme heard ’round here
and even when I tell them there’s plenty to do my voice rings insincere.

Because to tell the truth I agree, I could use some adventure in my life
I want to add explorer to my resume next to mom, friend, & wife

I’ve read all the books, seen all the movies, and played every game that we own
I want to embark on untraveled terrain and venture to parts unknown

But here we sit in local suburbia watching day after day unfold
Missing out on learning experiences and watching monotony take hold

But what can I do to re-energize, to instill a zest for life in my kin?
I know we need to get active but I’m befuddled at where to begin.

But luckily I talked to a friend and I think it was the push that I needed
Her family had just bought an RV and her expectations were far exceeded.

She told stories about vacations and about bonding around the fire
about how she’s so glad she bought one now and didn’t wait to retire.

It finally hit me that this was it, this is what we need to fill that void
I realize that life isn’t about just working but it is meant to be enjoyed

So tomorrow morning bright and early we are getting in the truck
and picking out our new lease on life so you better wish us luck!
