Introducing the Vagabond Family

Hi! Weʼre the Vagabond Family! Jon, Katie, Cole, Kayla, and Case. We spent a year traveling the US in our 1977 airstream. We spent the year before that remodeling the airstream to accommodate our family of 5. We are currently building our home base in the mountains of Colorado before we head out on more adventures next summer. Follow us on Instagram @ the.vagabond.family

#12 Reason To Buy A Camper: Quality Time With Family And Friends

We saved the best reason for last, Quality Time With Family And Friends. In a world of distraction, we can lose sight of what really matters in our lives. Family time is now replaced with screen time and even hanging out with friends is barley squeezed into our schedules. When we are purposeful with our time, the quality of it can be that much better. Camping, in my opinion, re-charges that time and cultivates healthier grounds for when we return back to our normal everyday busy schedules. So, what are we waiting for? It’s time to slow down and relax with the people we love!

Introducing Steve and Shannon

Hello! Buying our first camper, in 2013, was one of the best decisions weʼve made for our family. It has changed our lives in so many ways. We have created countless family memories in our camper, that we will forever cherish. Weʼve traveled to so many places and stayed in the comfort of our vacation home on wheels. Weʼve made so many friends along the way that have enriched our lives. We love sharing and inspiring others to venture out on the road and see America in the comfort of their vacation home on wheels. – Steve & Shannon from The Hitched Life. #10 Reason To Buy A Camper: De-Stress Your Vacations

I don’t know about you, but de-stressing is one of my top goals in life. Not only does it affect your health, but the health of the people around you. There are a ton of articles, how-to books, and advice on the web about how to de-stress. Those are all good, but when it comes to going on vacation, it can be a lifesaver. Let me tie all of this back to camping. There is just something about camping in the woods that automatically de-stresses you. The sound of birds singing, creek water dancing and the coziness of a campfire flickering at night. All of these things and more are auto de-stressors. So, what are you waiting for?

#9 Reason To Buy A Camper: Save Money

Who doesn’t like saving money? Let’s face it, vacations can drain your wallet quickly. You have the cost of hotels, car rentals, restaurant bills and if you are flying, the airline ticket fees. When you own a camper, you can save SO much more money! You already have your own place to stay, you can pack a week’s worth of food and avoid the hassle of the airport. Camping gives you the flexibility to travel. It also allows you to see the things that you might not get to see while staying at a hotel. Saving money will allow you to enjoy family time without feeling guilty about how much money you will spend. So what are you waiting for?

#7 Reason To Buy A Camper: Become Part Of The Community

Camping is not just a summer activity, its about belonging to a community. It’s a different world when you first enter a campground. You enter a new community of people who share the same interests and camp philosophy as you do. It’s like gathering around a campfire, while a buddy of yours starts playing a familiar tune on their guitar and everyone joins in to sing along. It’s that feeling you get when stories are being told and laughter breaks out all at once. It’s simply that feeling of being “home.”

#6 Reason To Buy A Camper: Meet Friendly Neighbors

You can meet so many nice people at campgrounds. The people are relaxed and laid back and are willing to give you a hand when needed. My family and I have experienced friendly neighbors reaching out to help us park our camper, unload equipment and even giving us a very nice maple stick to use in our campfire. It’s not like this when you stay at hotels. People at hotels like their privacy and are there to sleep and leave. Campgrounds are a different world. It’s like you have lived by each other for years!
